The Ministry of Local Government and Inner Islands, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of the Republic of Seychelles, mobilised the people of Seychelles, the business community, religious institutions, civil society organisations, and partners to support Sri Lanka following the devastating impact of Cyclone Ditwah.
At a brief ceremony, contributions received through the national humanitarian appeal were formally handed over to the Acting High Commissioner of Sri Lanka in Seychelles, Mrs. Manisha P. Perera, in the presence of the sponsors and partners who generously supported the initiative.
The High Commission of Sri Lanka expresses its sincere appreciation to H.E. the President and the Government of the Republic of Seychelles for their unwavering support following the disaster and extends its heartfelt gratitude to the people of Seychelles, the business community, religious institutions, civil society organisations, and all partners for their generosity and solidarity. The High Commission also conveys its appreciation to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora for coordinating the initiative and to the Ministry of Local Government and Inner Islands for leading this national effort.
